How We Scan Archives 


STEP 1- Your archives can be collected from London by our secure collection service and taken to our scanning bureau which is equipped with the latest imaging technology and security systems for guaranteed safety and confidentiality for your documents.


STEP 2- Once at our bureau we will use low stress, flatbed digitising equipment designed to put minimum pressure on your archives. The scanners also utilise optimised LED lighting which ensures that less heat and infrared energy will get to each item.


STEP 3- The digital images will then be checked to ensure they are of the highest quality before being converted into your preferred format such as PDF, Jpeg or TIFF.


STEP 4- If required, Optical Character Recognition will be applied to the digital files to make them fully text searchable.


STEP 5- We will then fully index the files to ensure they can be easily retrieved by agreed fields such as title, date, location or reference number.


STEP 6- The digital files can then be delivered to you in London and the surrounding areas on CD, DVD, USB or made available via our online cloud platform, Pearl Cloud.
